After the 7 years war, both England and France lost a lot of territory around the world and also lost a lot of money. The British also lost a lot of soldiers which made their armies very weak and vulnerable to attack. The only positive to this war was that England secured land in what would become Canada and some territory in Central America. France was forced to hand over control of the Mississippi River, New France (except Saint-Pierre and Miquelon), the island of Granada, and the Northern Circarsin India to Great Britain.
